ZEPTAE.COM - About

David "Zeptae" Lashmar is the man behind many musical projects and is well known for his creative photography.

David (vocals, guitars) formed Vampire Sex Chain in the 1980s with Calvin Hager, Daniel Wintermans, and Cindy LeMaitre. The Vamps only recorded one album but it charted at the top of just about every college radio station across North America. Being a pioneer in their musical genre took it's toll and they spit up in the early 1990s.

Choke On Candy was a studio-only side project of David's. He wrote, sang, played keyboards and guitars, and produced the project's three albums. Many guest musicians made cameos in these recordings including Roger Vallve (Syringe, Jamie Shea Trio, Siagon Club), Chris de Bassegio (Syringe), and Christine Eames. This project  existed from the mid 1990s up until the early 2000s.

Syringe was one of David's more successful bands. Together with band mates, Roger Vallve (Jamie Shea Trio, Siagon Club), Chris de Bassegio on drums who was later replaced by Joe Scaduto, the band made one full recording with guest appearances by Jamie Shea (Jamie Shea Trio, Creeping Chester) and Terry Duggan (Sax). They followed up this recording with an EP called Superstar Explosion. Syringe recorded cover songs for the Forgotten Rebels and Daniel Lanois tribute albums. Syringe lasted from 1995-2000.

Just as David was finishing up with his band Syringe, he was asked to produce two rap albums. One was for Devious01 and the other for Nikki T. Both recordings were very well received.

Feeling a little burnt out from decades of the music industry, David decided to take a break and shift his focus (literally) to photography. It wasn't long before the world began to take notice of this highly creative sole. Within two years of starting his photography career his award count and critical acclaim became impossible for the photographic community to ignore. David continues his photographic work to this very day.

Finally, after taking a well-deserved break from the music industry to work on his photography, David began to record music again. This time, the music project would simply be called "Zeptae". He works on this project in his off time. The latest Zeptae music will always be available on this site for you to download and enjoy.
